Back to the big D!

It's been a crazy week. We have been going non stop since we got to Alabama. It was such a fun weekend though! I will update with all the details soon. Charlee is now Mrs. Mitchell and she was beautiful! In the past 48 hours, I've seen all of my favorite people in Alabama. I'm exhausted and worn out! I'm about to pass out and then get up in a few hours to head back to Texas. I will update with more pictures and details soon!! Sorry for the lack of blogging!!!!

Busy busy busy!

I've gotten extremely bad at updating this thing! I've just been so busy enjoying my lazy summer that I don't think to blog. I have lots of things to blog about soon, however! I am in Alabama until next Tuesday for my college roommate's wedding. Chase is then coming back to Dallas with us for a week! After that it's my birthday weekend, and after that I'm off to California to spend a week with my Betsy! Sometime between all of this summer craziness I promise to update this thing!!! Hope you are all enjoying your summer!

University Tumblers

My tumblers finally came in today! I've been waiting weeks for them and I am so excited! I ordered 5 white ones, 5 pink ones, 1 purple one, and 1 turquoise one! I made an Alabama one first off and my friend, Julie, has already claimed it! I have 4 more clear ones, so if anyone is interested in something for their school, let me know! I can do any school!

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday

-SUMMER. I am in love with sleeping in and being L-A-Z-Y.
-Cinnamon crunch cheerios. When I finally decide to get out of bed, they are so yummy!
-That one week from today, I will be spending all day with my adorable cousins!
-That I'm going to Alabama in less than a week and I get to see all my family and friends!
-That my summer is finally about to "get started". Starting on Tuesday, I'll be busy, busy, busy until July 19th!
-Roses-- This book is AMAZING. Thanks for letting me borrow it, Alicean! I read all 609 pages in two days. (Did I mention I'm loving being lazy? haha...)

Speed Demon

Yesterday I had a dentist appointment at four to finally be finished with this root canal business. It's a little insane how long it takes to get it all done! But I paid off my last crown yesterday and was elated to be finished with the process. Ty took yesterday off of work, so decided to meet at the movies at five. I went straight there from my dentist appointment. We saw Super 8, which was.... terrible. I'll just say it. I hated it. At least we saw it on his free movie pass and didn't have to pay for it! Afterward, we decided to go to dinner. I offered to drive since he had driven down from Plano. We went to Mi Cocina, which is a mexican restaurant here. I had never had it and Ty hates mexican, but he suggested it so we went. I think he ended up liking what he ordered, so that's good. Anyway, dinner was great. As we were leaving dinner and headed back to his car, this fancy car passed us. The car tag said "I Tithe" and we just thought it was so ironic that this person with a fancy car has that on their car tag- plus, who brags about tithing?! Anyway, that car zoomed past us.... and five seconds later I got pulled over. Ty was all like, "You weren't speeding, I checked! You were only going 45! Is your tag expired? Are your headlights out? Why did he pull you over?!" And I'm like "I dont know?!?" Well, the guy comes to the window and was like, "Ma'am, you were going 46 in a 35. I need your license and insurance." He ended up writing me a ticket!! We didn't believe that it was a 35 speed limit zone, so we went back and checked afterward. Turns out, it was. LAME! I was so mad. I use to get pulled over all the time (10 times in Alabama with only two tickets to show for it!) This was my first time to get pulled over in Texas and he gave me a ticket right away! Ugh. That was not nice. I was so mad! It took everything in me to not start screaming and crying right then. Needless to say, I dropped Ty off at his car and the evening was over. I just wasn't in the best mood! Oh, and Ty said that the reason he knew how fast I was going was because he was literally about to tell me to speed up so he could look at that "I tithe" car again, but then I got pulled over! I was like, yea, you better be glad you didn't say that because then YOU'D be paying for this ticket!! (Of course, being the nice guy that he is, he still wants to pay for half of it, but I won't let him.) I came home and cried and cried because I had just paid for my tooth, I need two new tires on my car, and now I have this ticket!! AND I'm having to go home next week so that will cost tons of money too. I called my dad and told him I hated being a grown up because he doesn't pay for things like this anymore! haha... he just laughed at me. This stinks!!

Loving Lala

I've said for months that once summer came around, I would try starting up my own Etsy store. Well, it's summer, so I started one up! For now, I just posted crafts that I've already made and could be re-done if someone orders them. I have way more I could post, but this is all for today. If you have a chance, go check it out! And if you see something you like, go ahead and purchase! Or, just pass the link along to a friend! I'm excited to see if this goes anywhere. Check it out here--- Loving Lala

Summer Reading List

So I have three days of training this week for the new middle school, but besides that, it is SUMMER. And I am having the hardest time coming up with a summer reading list! I feel like I've already read the "popular" books that are going around right now. I know I want to read "Council of Dads" next, but does anyone have any other suggestions of books I could add to my summer reading list?? I love to lay by the pools with a book, so let me know if you have any ideas!

Goodbye year two....

Well, my second year of teaching is officially over! The kids left at noon today. The rest of the day was spent packing and moving out. Tomorrow we have a meeting at ten followed by a luncheon, then it's check out time! I'll turn in my keys and say goodbye to my second school.

When I found out in September that I had to move to this school, I was heartbroken. I remember laying in bed and thinking, "There is no way I will like it there. There is no way I can teach an entire year without my friends at Townley. There is no way I will survive. I can't do it. I can't teach fourth grade self contained. I can't move schools." I think I cried every day for at least two weeks. For my first weeks at Farine, I didn't care to make friends with anyone. I kept telling myself that it didn't matter, because I would only be there a year. I regret that now. It lost precious time with some wonderful people! I think that I was just scared that I'd get attached to them too, and then be heartbroken when I left again. I finally let my guard down and have made some dear friends. I still miss Townley terribly and would love to go back there someday, but I'm also going to miss my new school so much.

This year flew by. I learned so much from being self contained this year. I made mistakes, but I learned from them. I got impatient, but it taught me patience. There were times that it was rough and I wanted to give up, but then there were days (lots of days!) that were so great.

At the end of the day today, I gathered my 16 munchkins together to say goodbye. I didn't think I'd be sad, but as I looked at their sweet faces and told them goodbye, I couldn't help getting choked up. I'll probably never see them again, and that's hard to accept after you have spent 7 1/2 hours, 5 days a week, for the past 10 months! They are precious and I already miss them. I pray that they learned a lot this year and that when they think back on their fourth grade year, they do it with a smile.

So, I have two years under my belt and two schools! I have been so blessed to be at two amazing schools. I wouldn't trade my experiences at either one of them for anything. I am excited and anxious about next year! I hope that this time next year I am writing another post about how great my third year was!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm linking up with This Kind of Love for my second week of What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving that I have gotten to spend the past week and a half with this girl! This is Katie, my bestie in Dallas! I see her all the time normally, but her boyfriend is currently out of the country so we've had even more girl time than normal! I miss Scottie Poo and I'm ready for him to come back, but I've thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with Katie anytime I want to!
I'm also loving Edy's Strawberry Fruit Bars.... I have no idea if they are good for you or not, but they are delicious!!
I'm also loving Kung Fu Panda 2. Have you seen it yet? Ty swears the first one is better, but I personally enjoyed this one more! It's really funny and has a great story. Go see it! Clean family fun! :)

And most of all, I'm loving these updated pictures of my beautiful fake nephews and fake niece!!! They have stolen my heart and I can't wait to use this summer spending time with all of them!!
Look at that grin! Charlie is so adorable!!
Ohmygosh. Charlie's cheeks! I'm in love with this baby!
Look at his grin! I'm in love with it! Brax lives the closest to me and I plan on hanging out with him as soon as my trainings are over next week!! (Bonnie, what do you think about next Friday?!?)

I can't get over how happy he always is!!! Isn't he the cutest baby?!?!
My beautiful Tenley!!! Ah, I love her so much! Isn't this picture adorable? It's currently the background on my phone! But with all of these adorable babies in my life, I have to change it frequently!
I can't wait to play with sweet Tenley at the end of this month! Only 26 more days!
And last, but certainly not least, I'm LOVING that tomorrow is the last day of school with the kids! Yay for summer!!
