T*TOWN!

So we weren't coming back to Dallas until Monday, so my friends and I had Sunday to waste in Alabama. We were trying to decide what to do, and we decided that they should experience my favorite place in Alabama-- TUSCALOOSA!

So we piled into the car and went to ttown! I was so excited to spend the day there! We went to Momma G's for lunch-- YUM! Nikki came by to see me and I was SO excited about that! I hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving, so even if we were only together for a few minutes it was so great!
After lunch, we drove around campus and I showed them all of my favorite places. Then we went by the stadium to take pictures! It was so fun introducing them to the bear and to Bryant Denny! (Of course, Cali is an LSU girl and had to get her Nick Saban anger out...)

After the stadium, we headed over to the Bryant Museum and explored there. It was fun teaching them about the history of Alabama football!

After that, we drove around town and went shopping! I bought enough Alabama shirts to last me awhile. We then decided to head to El Rincon for afternoon margaritas! Their margaritas are my favorite! Unfortunately we got there and they were closed for Memorial Day. :( I was so sad! AND Summer snow was closed because it was Sunday. BOO! Oh well, we still had fun in Ttown!

Scatie's Wedding Day!

Saturday was perfect in every way! Katie and Scott got MARRIED!

The ceremony was beautiful! The reception was a perfect reflection of them! We had yummy food and drinks and danced the afternoon away. It was SO much fun! I am SO excited for Katie and Scott!!! I wish we could re-live the entire day! It was SO much fun and SO perfect!!!!! Congratulations Scatie!!!!

Scatie's Rehearsal Dinner

Friday night was Scatie's rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. (Scott & Katie)

The rehearsal was at Katie's home church. We then headed to The Club in Homewood for dinner. The Club is an older place, but the view is breathtaking! It definitely has one of the best views in Birmingham. We enjoyed great food and drinks, as well as great stories about both Katie and Scott. It was a fun time to be with their family and friends!

Katie's Bridesmaid Luncheon

It worked out really well that Chase graduated on Thursday in Birmingham, because then two of my best friends from Dallas got married in Birmingham that weekend!

Katie is one of my besties in the big D, but she is originally from Hoover so her wedding was back home. On Friday, we had the bridesmaid luncheon! I was the only girl from Dallas in the wedding, but she invited our other close girls to the luncheon.
The luncheon was at The Summit Club in Birmingham. It had a beautiful view of the Magic City. We had brunch and charm cake! It was such a sweet time to spend with Katie on her last day as a Benton!

Chase's Graduation

I flew home last Thursday morning for my little brother's high school graduation. I can hardly believe he is old enough to graduate from highschool!
I remember like it was yesterday when our parents told us he was on the way. For so many years, he was my mini me- my shadow. I just can't believe that he's headed off to college in just a few short months!! We had such a great time celebrating his special day. I'm so proud of him!
Chase, you are going to LOVE it at Alabama! It will be the best four years of your life. Soak up every minute of it, because it FLIES by!!! I love you, no-no!

Missing

Kevin is having a baby.
Holly is getting married.
I just bought a house.
Chase is graduating highschool and going to college.

Where did the time go?
My mom would love this time. I mean, this is the kind of stuff she would thrive on. She would always be on the phone talking to SOMEONE about it all if she were here.

Gosh, I miss her.

I'm getting a brother!

What a crazy weekend! Today, my sister got engaged!

Last night her boyfriend came to town. (He recently moved to Tulsa) They were planning on going to look at a place they wanted to get married at, even though they weren't engaged yet. Zack asked me to come take pictures of the place "with my fancy camera". I told him he was more than welcome to take the camera, but he finally convinced me I needed to come too. By that time, I had figured out what was going on. I actually told a friend last night that I was 95% sure he would propose today.

So we walked around the place and at the end of the tour, I realized I hadn't actually taken any pictures. So I snapped a few of the chapel. ...

Then Zack started asking Holly to take pictures with him at the front of the chapel, and she kept saying "NO ZACK! I DON'T WANT TO! LET'S GO!" He kind of looked at me like "WHAT DO I DO?!?!"... If you know anything about me, I'm pretty bossy. So I said "HOLLY. Go down there and take a picture with your boyfriend!!!!" So we march down to the front (Holly was VERY upset about it.) I snapped a picture of the two of them...

Then Zack started talking to her quietly and I KNEW I was right at that moment. He went down on one knee, and the rest is history!

So in three months and 4 days, I will say goodbye to my roommate of 25 years and hello to a wonderful new brother. I'm excited (and stressed about planning a wedding in 3 months...)! Here's to a busy summer....

Bachelorette

Last night was Katie's bachelorette party!!

Katie is a low key kinda girl, so we had a low key kinda night!

We went to dinner at Pepe's in Deep Ellum, followed by games, snacks, and presents back at my house.
Katie's sister, Sarah Beth, flew in for the party! It was so nice to finally meet her!

I can't believe Katie and Scott get married ONE week from today!!!!!
