2010

How come when you are little, the year seems to take forever to be over... but when you are older, it goes by in a flash? It seems like just yesterday that we were kicking off 2010, and now it's coming to an end. Where did the time go?

2010 went by in a whirlwind. For the most part, it was a great year! It was mainly a year of adjusting to Dallas. This time last year I said that I loved living here- and that was true. But now, a year later, I'm even more in love with it. This past year was spent making wonderful friendships. I am truly blessed and overwhelmed by the wonderful friends I have made in Dallas. I wouldn't trade my life here for anything!

Big highlights of 2010:
-Alabama won the national championship in January! Roll Tide!
-My entire homeroom passed reading TAKS! I was pumped about that one. I had originally told them that if they all did it, I would dye my hair pink. Luckily, they settled for no more reading logs for the rest of the year!
-KBK got married and I had the honor of being in her wedding. That was indeed a crazy weekend, more so after the wedding though. HA.
-I completed my first year of teaching! It went great and I loved every second of it. I cried on the last day!
-Tiffany got married and the six were reunited for the weekend. It was so great to be all together again! I am so glad that Tiffany found her prince charming in Cody. :)

-Holly and I moved to Dallas! Last year we lived in Irving, but in July we moved on over to the big city. (Which was only 10 minutes away, haha!) I haven't regretted it for a second. I love living in actual Dallas!

Charlee came to Dallas for a visit!
Wo got married and I got to spend the weekend with some sweet friends!
We spent the 4th of July at the ranch!
Julio got fixed! He hated me. HA!
Lyndsey and Hunter stopped in Dallas on their way to California and it was SO GOOD to see them!
We adopted Gus into our little family! He has been such a delight :)

Charlie was born! My first fake nephew. I'm in love with that baby boy!

Townley got renovated and I had to re-set up my classroom...
And a month later, I got transferred to a new school! And I had to re-set up my classroom AGAIN! Now I teach 4th grade....
I threw Travis the best birthday party EVER!
We made it back for the Florida game and I got to teach Charlie how to say Roll Tide and that crimson is better than maroon!
 I met Katie and Cali!
We spent an amazing day at the state fair!
We had the best Halloween costumes EVER!

Tiny Tenley was born, my first fake niece! I love her just as much as I love Charlie!

And I obviously skipped a few months, but I'll end here with Christmas! It was a great one!

Now it's time to say GOODBYE to 2010. It's been real, it's been fun, but it ain't been real fun! (Just kidding!) I look forward to toasting the new year with some dear friends in Dallas-- and I miss all of my dear friends in Dallas who decided to go out of town! (DANG YOU! Just kidding :) )

I hope you all had a blessed 2010!! Happy New Year!

White Christmas Pictures

As I said in my last post, my camera was dead over the break. Very sad, I know! Therefore, I stole these pictures from either my grandmother or my sister in law! But I wanted to share our white Christmas, so oh well!
My dad's house at about 10:30 Christmas morning... it kept on snowing, so there was even more later on!
My sister in law, Alicean, and me playing in the snow!
Holly and me playing in the snow!

My siblings and me with our Christmas snowman!
My dad's road!
The day after Christmas is Alicean's birthday- this is me and my dad at dinner for her birthday!

I hope you all had a merry Christmas! Ours was great!

I'm dreaming of a....

I haven't updated my blog in a few days, so I'm sorry! I've been in Alabama since Wednesday afternoon and have spent the entire time just hanging out with family. It has been so refreshing! I don't get to see my family much, so it's been nice to spend time with them. Thursday night I even got to hang out with my two little eight year old cousins... they are in third grade and simply adorable! They are growing up so fast. I loved hanging out with them!
Yesterday we did Christmas brunch with my mom's family. It was great getting to spend time with them! I got to see my cousin Catherine, who I hadn't seen since right before I moved to Dallas in '09! It was great catching up with her. Dirty Santa was fun, as always, and I left with a bag of sephora make up! After that we spent some time with my mom's parents. They are the greatest grandparents in the world! I only wish I lived closer and could see them more often.
My family! Chase, Holly, Alicean, Kevin, Mawmaw, me, and Pawpaw!

Me, Alicean, and Kevin!

Christmas today was wonderful! It was probably one of the best in awhile. We spent the day eating, opening presents, watching movies, and oh did I mention? Playing in the snow! We had so much snow! I think my dad's house got at least 3-4 inches. We went down into town today (my dad lives up on a mountain) and they hardly had any down low! But we got tons up on the mountain. My camera was dead, but as soon as my sister in law posts pictures, I will upload some on my blog!
I got a cricut for Christmas! I absoutely cannot wait to start cricutting everything and anything! As soon as I start I will post pictures. After I get that going, I might start an etsy store! I could sell headbands, canvases, and cricutted things... the possiblities are endless! I'll keep you updated...
All day I kept thinking about how much my mom would have loved a white christmas. I can just hear her walking around the house singing "I'm dreaming of a white christmas..." right now! Gosh, she would have been overjoyed. Christmas is always a bittersweet day. I only wish she could have spent it here with us. But can you imagine celebrating Christ's birth with Christ? I'm sure it is breathtaking. Happy Birthday to my sweet Jesus! I am so thankful that our God loves and cares enough to send His son so that we can one day be with Him. We serve a mighty God and I can't wait until the day that I get to celebrate a Christmas in Heaven with Him and my Lala!

More Headbands...

OK, OK... it's becoming a bit of an addiction. I've done so many headbands in the past few days! They are just so cute and simple! When I see how cute they are, I just keep making more! Most of these are removable, meaning that I can take the flower off and put a new one on! That way I can use the same headband over and over, but with a new flower that matches any and every outfit! Here are the ones I've done today and yesterday. I promise to update my blog soon with something besides headbands! We leave for Alabama on Wednesday, so there is lots of things to do before then!
