Meet Augustus

Meet Augustus Cody Harwood, aka Gus. His middle name is Cody after one of our favorite old bama players, Terrance Cody. (Notice his houndstooth collar. Yes, it matches Julio's.)
He is adorable, I know.
Gus is Holly's puppy. He is a pocket puggle, which is a pug/beagle mix. He is seven weeks old. Since he is a pocket version, he should only be about 8-12 pounds. Right now he is 3 pounds.
Julio is getting use to having a brother. At first, he had no idea what to do with something so tiny. Gus now follows his big brother around everywhere. He cant really run yet, so he just hops. It is the cutest thing! They love to cuddle together.
Julio will always be my fav, but I'm falling in love with this sweet puppy too. :)

Bookshelf Makeover

My pawpaw built this bookcase for me years ago:

I used it in my bedroom in highschool and college, and it was in our dining room in our last apartment. It's sturdy and well built! We have no where for it in the new apartment. It was in my closet, but I have now pulled it out to the porch and decided to paint it!
I want it to be bright and fun. It's going to go in my classroom! I am excited about it because I will be able to use it to mark off part of my class for the actual classroom library. I am currently thinking that its going to be purple, blue, and pink. We will see how it ends up! I have this idea in my mind, I'm just hoping that it ends up that way. Wish me look. I'll post an "after" picture when I'm done!

PS. I am extremely thankful that my school is getting renovated. It will be so nice to work in an updated school. But this whole not getting into my classroom until a few days before school starts is driving me crazy. My bedroom is currently half bedroom/half classroom because it has so much of my stuff in there. Townley needs to hurry up and be finished getting renovated before I die of anxiety.

Possible Uganda Trip...

I've posted several times about my desire to go to Uganda next summer. I have been looking around for different trip opportunities, and I think I have found the one for me. It is only a week trip though, and I was really wanting to go for longer. This group has one trip for two weeks, but I am in a wedding the first weekend of the trip so I can't go on that one. The trip I am looking at goes from July 24-July 30. It will cost about $3,000, but I have faith that God will provide that money in some way. Here is the summary of what the trip is about:
In Uganda, our teams will spend time working at Amazima Ministries (http://kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com) with their feeding program and with the children of the Karamajong tribe. Our focus with Amazima Ministries will be to present vacation bible study series and lessons to these children so that they know the love of their Heavenly Abba Father. We will also help meet physical and financial needs by bringing supplies and donations from the U.S. There are many other orphanages which Visiting Orphans partners with in Uganda such as Canaan's Children Home, Return Uganda, Divine Care Ministries, My Father's House, Spring of Hope orphanage and an orphanage in the city of Palissa. Customized itineraries for each trip will consist of working with some or each of these orphanages.

I just submitted my application. The application won't be final until I send in a deposit and two letters of recommendation though. I am going to continue praying about this for the next week or two before I send those in. I don't want to do this just because I want to... I want it to be the trip that God wants to send me on. Will you join in praying with me for this opportunity? The prayers will be greatly appreciated.

100 posts, 100 people...

This is my 100th post! I wanted my 100th post, so I thought and thought about what I could write about in my 100th post. I decided that I should write/post pictures about 100 people that I'm blessed to know! Therefore, this post is going to take forever and might be an overload with the pictures. I'm not going to talk about each person, because that would indeed take forever! So here goes... (The first two are in order, the rest are not!)

1. Jesus. He is my Savior and my Lord. Without Him, I am seriously lost. He brings me through my trials, my joys, my heartaches, and my triumphs. He is my number one.
2. My mom. I was blessed to have her in my life for 18 1/2 years, and she loved me like crazy during that time. She was my best friend, and formed me into the person I am today. I am so blessed to have her still loving me from above.
3. My twin sister, Holly. She is my other half and my best friend. We have experienced everything together in life. She is amazing!
4. My little brother, Chase. He is the funniest guy I know!
5. My older brother, Kevin. He is so smart and so funny. He is a great role model and I've always looked up to him.
6. My sister in law, Alicean. She is a blessing to our family and I love getting to know her better each time I see her.
7. My dad. He has always provided for our family, and always gets us whatever we need.
8 & 9. My Mawmaw notenote and pawpaw georg-o. They are the best grandparents in the world. They have always been there for us, they have always spoiled us, and we always have so much fun when we are with them. They are amazing!
10. Nikki. She is my bestest and I would be lost without her.
11. Charlee. She was an amazing roommate and a dear friend. She is so funny!
12 and 13. My cousins, Chloe and Savannah. They make my heart smile! I always have so much fun with those beautiful little girls.
14. Betsy. She is my favorite Californian and I miss her the most during awkward moments when I need someone to laugh with. :)
15. Julie. She is my craziest friend and I would have missed out on a lot of laughs without her.
16. Tiffany. She taught me what being from Alabama is all about- the country life.
17. Cody. Tiffany's wonderful husband who adores her, and has shown me what it looks like for a man to be head over heels for a woman.
18. Erin. My crazy cajun. :)
19. Ann Marie. She has a really good shoulder to cry on and a great ear to listen with!
20. Natalie. My friend since preschool!
21. Jessie. She has taught me more than she will ever know, and opens my eyes to new things in our world whenever we talk.
22. Molly. My moho! I love her more than words can express. She is hysterical!
23. Haley. We went from chasing the boys in kindergarten, to dealing with heartbreaks in highschool and college. She is that friend who is always there, no matter how long it's been since we last talked.
24. Katey. How did I get to #24 before mentioning my Katey Keg?! It's pretty random that we are friends at all, but she listens to me gripe all the time.
25. Kimmay. The best dance partner you'd ever need!
26. Nick. My high school date to everything and my future husband (if I'm 33 and still single). He means the world to me.
27. Darren. My crazy Dare Bear! He is the boy who has offered a shoulder each time my heart breaks, and then offers to go break their face.
28. Lyndsey. One of my college roommates. She is one of the most sincere people I have ever known.
29. Hunter. Hunter is Lyndsey's older brother. He is a prince charming, and has showed me what a man who chases after Christ looks like and that they do exist.
30. Hayley M. One of my good friends from college who always, always has a smile on her face.
31. Whitney. Another friend who is happy all the time and so much fun to hang with!
32. Becky. She is my second mother. She has offered so much to us, including a home. I only pray that Molly has as much fun with my mom in heaven and as I am having with her mom here.
33. Molly. She was a dear friend who has impacted my life so much since the day we lost her.
34. Mrs. McWhorter. My 10th grade math teacher. I passed out in her class and she then followed me around every day to make sure I was ok. She was a wonderful teacher and the world became a little darker when it lost her.
35. Mrs. Mitchell. A friend's mom who worked so much with our youth group and inspired so many of us.
36. Alicia W. She was always my role model in middle school and jr. high, and as I moved into college she became a dear friend. I can always be open and honest with her, and we have shared many deep conversations.
37. Leigh Ann H. My college bible study leader. Together, we dug through many deep subjects and lived life together.
38. Ben Pilgreen. My college minister for two years. He probably doesn't know it, but he was one of the main reasons I clung to my faith during the time after I lost my mom. His wednesday sermons reminded me of the love and hope that I can find in Christ even when I wasn't sure if He was there.
39 & 40. Gaylon and Cindy F. A friend's parents and they were also my sunday school teachers in 7th grade. They taught us the motto "I Choose" and now I teach it to my students.
(I didn't find any good pictures with any of the above people!)

41. JFree. My nerdboy. The most annoying and the most loving "big brother" out there.
42, 43, and 44. Lacey, Baron, and Charlie Martin. Lacey is one of my best friends in Dallas and we spend a lot of time together. Baron is her sweet husband and is the kind of guy I hope to find one day. Charlie is their sweet baby boy who will be born next week- I haven't technically met him yet, but I'm already blessed to be a part of his life.
(How do I not have a picture with you two!?)

45. Bonnie. My co-worker and my best friend at work. We spend every lunch period laughing, crying, and eating (duh!). I wouldn't have survived my first year without her!
(Bonnie is on the left. Valerie is on the right, and is also another friend I am blessed to have!)
46. Jamie R. The only friend I can fight with, drive off, and know that the next time I see him we will be just fine.
47. Pair. My japanese friend. What would we have done if it weren't for those blue cupcakes? She encourages me every time I get the chance to talk to her.
48. Sarah. Our best friend in Dallas. The funniest person I know here!
49. Kristina. She reminds me to return to the basics of life and Christ.
50. Julie J. She is always up for a good time!
51. Ian. Completely inappropriate, but incredibly hilarious. We laugh for hours!
52. Travis. Our seminary friends who helps keep my language clean. :)
53. Ty. He loves some lady gaga, and he loves some harwood twins!
(No pictures with the above either. I'm terrible!)

54. Amanda. We've been friends since the womb. Besides family, she is the one who has known me my entire life. I love thinking back to our memories!
55. Kelly. Amanda's sister, who made me play soccer and workout to Richard. haha...
56 and 57. My cousins Claire and Catherine. I looked up to them when I was younger and I still do today. They are so funny and so much fun to hang out with. They make family get togethers so much fun!

58. Christopher. How did it take me this long to get to him? My favorite Auburn boy. The one boy who will talk on the phone for hours! I love his stories. He is also someone you can act completely stupid with and he doesn't hold it against you!
59. Kahla! My KBK. Again, how did it take so long to get to you!? Kahla is the person who taught me how to love and hate all in the same relationship! haha... I love you KBK!
60. Brooke Austin- The Prez! She made freshmen year so entertaining... katey keg!
61. Bradford. Seriously, why did I not talk about you sooner?! Power Rangers to Lopsy, we've been through it all!
62. Michele. My chele bell! The girl who holds my best friend's heart and one of my dearest friends.
63, 64, 65, 66, and 67. The entire Stewart family- Matt, Cindy, Blake, Kaylee, and Mallori. I consider Cindy my second mom, and the rest of the crew is like my second family. They each mean so much to me. Whenever I get to go home, I look forward to spending time with them so much!
68. Kelsey. We've been friends for years, and she is the kind of friend I can call up when I'm in town and we can pick up lunch and start where we dropped off last time!
69. Terri Leigh. My Mama TL! She has always challenged me to be better than I am and to never, ever settle. She is wise and one of my role models. If I could be half of the woman she is it would be amazing.
70 and 71. Ashley and Patrick. My kind of sister and brother in laws! They are some of our dearest friends in Dallas.
72 and 73. Paula and Neil. Our Dallas parents! It makes it feel a little bit more like home with them around.
74. Cristy. My aunt who is beautiful on the inside and the out. She is a strong and amazing woman!
75. Gigi. My other aunt who is beautiful and crazy! She is so much fun, and also extremely smart!
76 and 77. Gary and Gwen H. We grew up next door to them and they are basically my second parents. One day Gary will preach my wedding and I can't wait!
78. Gina S. I wouldn't have survived internship without her! She is a friend I will always hold dear.
79. Jessica P. She helped me survive the worst summer of my life! She is a great friend to hang out with when you're miserable because she makes you feel so much better! ;)
80, 81, 82, 83, 84. Michael, Staci, Shelby, Clay, and Sophie. Although we don't talk anymore, they were my adopted family in college. That one homecooked meal a week and time to hang with a family was amazing. They were a huge part of getting me through the loss of my mom.
85. Pawpaw H. How did it take me to 85 to talk about my pawpaw? He is the sweetest man. He is a man of few words, but says what he needs in those words. My favorite letter from him: "Be good. Love you. PaPa"
86. Mawmaw G. My other grandmother. She is a great mawmaw!
87. Mawmaw Kidd. How many people can say they still have a great grandmother? Mine is adorable and raised her family in the right way!
88-100. I know this sounds like I'm cheating, but I'm definitely not. All of my mom's wonderful friends. They all loved my mom more than I would ever know and they all care so much about us. Whenever we see them, they want to know about our lives and what's going on. My mom lives on through their friendships and whenever I spend time with them, I feel like I have spent time with my mom. Darlene, Cindy, Lee Ann, Bonnie, Joy, Carol, Tina, Yo, "Aunt" Ree, "Aunt" Amanda, "Aunt" Penny, "Aunt" Susan... there are so many more, and I'm blessed to have each of them in my life.
Wow. When I started doing this, I was like, "Hopefully I can think of 100 people to write about!"... and I did! And I could have kept going! If you aren't on this list, it does not mean that I don't feel blessed to know you. I do!
After making this list, I am extremely thankful for all of the amazing people that God has placed in my life. I am in awe of how many there are! Each of you have played a huge role in my life and I am truly blessed to know each of you.
