Sin has lost it's power, Death has lost it's sting!

What a great easter weekend! I spent the weekend in Austin with my family. Chase and Dad flew in from Alabama and Holly and I drove down from Dallas. It was so great to all be together on Easter- it was the first time we had been in a long time.

On Saturday we ate lunch at The Oasis. It is my favorite place to eat in Austin! The view is just incredible. Then us ladies went to the mall to squeeze in some good shopping (I'm sloly turning into a shopaholic!!) Luckily, I only bought a necklace to go with my easter dress. I was proud of not spending alot of money!

Saturday night we went to our favorite BBQ place- The Salt Lick. It is to DIE for. After eating there, you will never be able to eat Alabama BBQ again. It is simply amazing!! We all stuffed ourselves silly and then went home to lay around and be miserable while watching Final Four games!!

Sunday we went to church with Kevin and Alicean at The Austin Stone. Todd Agnew led worship and it was an incredible service. I love Easter because it is a beautiful reminder of how much our Savior loves us. My favorite verses from church on Sunday were Romans 6: 8-10
"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that since Christ has been raised from the dead, he is never going to die again; death no longer has mastery over him. For the death he died, he died to sin once for all, but the life he lives, he lives to God."
What a beautiful reminder of our Savior's love, of what he did for us, and how we should live our lives. We serve an Almighty Lord!

We ended Easter weekend with an amazing lunch cooked by my dear sister-in-law Alicean. It was seriously the best meal I had had in a LONG time!! We are so blessed to have her as a Harwood now. :)

Tomorrow is TAKS! We take math tomorrow and reading on Wednesday-- so to my precious 5th graders--- I would say good luck, but we all know that "we don't need luck, we got skill!" They all have such great potential, and I can't wait to see how they perform!! Let's go 5th grade!!

PS. I am dying for one of these: Ipad. I'm just trying to figure out how to justify this purchase.
PPS. Kim will be here one week from Friday and I CAN'T WAIT!!!
PPPS. I leave for Alabama two weeks from Thursday for KBK's wedding! Maybe she will be my "Meet ____ Monday" person later today... I think it's time to get back into that!!
