Day 30

I'm kind of sad that this 30 day challenge is over! It was fun having something to write about every day!
Day 30 is a picture, so I'll leave you with one of my favorites...
I was deleting pictures on my camera the other day to make room for new ones, and I came across so many of the 6 of us together. I don't realize how much I miss them until I see pictures of us. I especially miss Betsy, since it's so much harder to see her. The other girls live in Alabama and I can see them anytime I go home, but with Betsy being in Cali it's harder to see her and I miss her so so much! I love these girls and I think we need to plan a reunion soon! :) :)

Day 29

Day 29- 3 Wishes
Let's see... what would my 3 wishes be if I had a magical genie?
1. That my mom would still be here. I miss her daily.
2. That I'd meet my "one" soon... yes, I'm tired of finding the wrong one.. over, and over again! ha!
3. That my kids would all pass TAKS- I know, a lame wish, but it's obvious that I'm a teacher. Now that the first semester is coming to a close, I'm super stressing out about that stupid test!

Day 28

Day 28-Something that stresses you out

Oh that's easy- TAKS test. It stresses me out to the max to think about getting 17 students ready for 3 different TAKs tests! I can't even talk about it without getting stressed out.

Day 25

Day 25- Put your ipod on shuffle and write the first 10 songs that come up

I can almost guarantee that this will be completely random. I don't have a certain type of music that I listen to, so I'm sure this 10 songs will all be so different.

1. 5's This is Why I'm Smart- Smart Shorties (Yes, that shows that I'm a teacher...)
2. Things People Say- Lady Antebellum
3. 4 Minutes- Glee Cast (Madonna Episode)
4. Swan Dive- Sister Hazel
5. Everything Glorious- David Crowder Band
6. Tonight I wanna Cry- Keith Urban
7. Rent- Rent
8. Start Living In It- Briana Dean
9. My Favorite Things- Sound of Music Soundtrack
10. Everything- Chris Tomlin

Told you it would be random :)

Day 24

Day 24- Something you've learned

I've learned that none of us are promised tomorrow. If I were to die tomorrow, I would be ready. I know I would be greeted at Heaven's gate by the God I love, the Jesus who died for me, and my loved ones who have gone before me. And since I know that no one is promised tomorrow, I have learned to live every day to its fullest. To love the ones I have. To forgive the ones who make me angry. To live life to it's fullest and spend every day pursing Christ.

Let me change that. I havent learned it. I'm still learning it. It's nothing something any of us will ever "master". But it's the thing I try hardest to.

Day 23

Day 23- Favorite Vacation
Almost every single one of my vacations have either been to Panama City Beach, Florida or Daytona Beach, Florida. Obviously, I need to plan new and exciting vacations! Haha!
But literally, almost every single vacation to Panama City has been a memorable one. From BATB06! (remember those days, guys??) to Spring Break '08 (aka Spring Break 10) with my family, they have all been great. Short rundowns of my favorites though! (All of these were at our condo in PCB)!
BATB06- Summer after freshmen year of college. Me, Holly, Katey, Kim, and Kahla with Josh, Josh, JR, and Jamie. All H's, K's, and J's. Favorite part of the entire trip? Truth or Dare- singing in the rain. HAHA.. good times, guys! (Yes, there is one person missing from these pictures. Wonder why? Hmm...)
Katey, Kim, Me, and Holly at BATB06!
Holly, Josh, me, and JR at BATB06
KBK and me at BATB06!
Spring Break 09- All of my education friends spent the week at the beach- 12 girls in one condo! Crowded, but so so so much fun! Favorite part of the entire trip? Coyote Ugly's until 4AM (HAHA... good times...)

Spring Break '10- Spending the week with my family and Sarah. We literally did nothing the entire week. And after my first year of working, it was glorious. Best part of the entire trip? Driving the strip every night and hearing my cousin yell "SPRING BREAK 08!!" over and over again. Trust me, you had to be there.
putputting with Holly and Sarah
I got to see my Christopher over this trip, too! That is always a treat!

Day 22

Day 22- Your favorite city
I wrote about my favorite city here, when I talked about the best place I've visited on Day 8. (This can be repetitive, eh?) But I also love, love, love Dallas. I think it's the best city to live in, for sure! So my favorite city overall is San Fran, but my favorite city to live in is Dallas!
Dallas!

Day 21

Day 21-Picture of yourself.

This seems incredibly vain. Maybe thats because I never, ever take pictures of just myself. I find it weird, vain, and awkward. Therefore, I'm just going to post the one that is my facebook profile picture.
This picture was taken at Kahla's rehearsal dinner. Our bridesmaid dresses were SUPER pink, so I had been tanning pre-wedding. Nikki was in this picture with me, but I cut her out to make it my profile picture. (Woops?) Like I said, I never take pictures of just myself. (Vain) So, this is what you get for today!

Day 20

Day 20- Nicknames

I have a few nicknames, but no one really calls me them anymore. In junior high/high school, they were more common.
My first nickname is "Heater". It came to be back in the day when "milky pens" were popular. Do you remember those things?! Oh, the good ol' days of drawing bracelets and rings on yourself.... haha!

No, I do not still have milkypens. I googled this iamge!
Anyway, back to the story. My best friend, Haley, drew my name on my arm one day. It was really big and was suppose to say "Heather". Well, at church that night (after wearing it on my arm alllll day), I realized that it said heater... she had spelt my name wrong! My friends noticed it too, and the name stuck. Soon, everyone called me Heater! (Except for Drew and Yeap... they referred to me as Oven because they wanted a unique nickname for me... and an Oven is hot like a heater... haha...) Anyway, heater was definately my most popular nickname. Haley now shortens it to heat, and she's pretty much the only person to still use it!

I had some other nicknames growing up that random friends would give me, but they are more about inside jokes and would sound totally inappropriate on a blog, so you can just ask me about those sometime! ;-)

Day 19

Day 19- Something you miss

My mom. I miss her every second of every day! Some days I feel the ache of her loss more than others. I wish I could call her up and complain about my day, or tell her the exciting things going on in my life, or just simply listen to her laugh. But I can't, and I haven't been able to for a long time. I was blessed to have her for 18 years though, and I will cherish the memories I made with her. She was one-of-a-kind and the world has become a worse place without her smile. I will always miss you lala!

My mom and me on her last Christmas with her. Don't we look just alike in this picture?? :)

Day 18

Day 18- Something you regret

Don't we all have a list of things that we regret? Things I regret. A long list....
But honestly, every regret I can think of, comes with something that I learned from it. And if I hadn't of made those mistakes or those choices, I wouldn't be where I am today. Every bad thing that has happened to me, every stupid choice I've made, every good choice I've made, has led me to today. And today, I am extrememly happy. So do I really have regret?  No, I don't think so. Because if I had to live my life over the same way, I don't think there is anything I would change about it. And I don't see that as living a life of regret, but a life of success.

Day 17

Day 17- Something you're looking forward to....

THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! Ohmygoodness. I cannot wait!!! Why you might ask? Here is the rundown...
Saturday-Monday I will be in Enterprise hanging out with one of my best friends, Lacey, and cuddling her sweet baby boy, Charlie!
Monday-Tuesday I will be in Hackleburg visiting another one of my best friends, Tiff, and cuddling her sweet baby girl, Tenley!
Tuesday-Thursday morning I will be in Trussville visiting with some of my dearest friends and family!
Thursday- I will be at my cousin Charis's house in Hokes Bluff for lunch with my mom's wonderful and amazing family! It's my favorite day of the year!
Thursday night-Saturday- I will be in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl!
Saturday- Head back to Dallas
Sunday- Bonnie's baby's due date! (But for her sanity, I hope he/she decides to come before then! ha!)

WHEW! It wears me out just typing everywhere that I will be traveling. But I absoutely, positively, cannot wait to see these people. I haven't been home since June (besides that one day in Tuscaloosa in September...) so I am ecstatic about seeing these people. I can hardly contain my excitement! Only 8 more school days, 10 more total days, and then I'm headed home to Sweet Home Alabama!

Day 16

Day 16- Dream House
I don't have any idea of my dream house would look like on the outside. However, there are a few select things that I want to have in my dream house someday...
A white kitchen. I would want it to be bigger than this one. However, I love the white. And the blue! But I would want a little darker of blue. I just love how clean the white looks.

I would love, love, love a craft room. Ohmygosh. To have an entire room just for your crafts?? Ohmygosh. I want it so bad!
And ever since I saw Beauty and the Beast as a child, I knew I wanted a library in my dream home. How great would a huge library be?! However, I have learned to accept that I will probably just have a few shelves of books like here, and I'll be ok with that, too. :)

Day 15

Day 15- Bible Verse
I have three favorite bible verses. They are:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 (This was my mom's life verse. It helped our family through so many trials.)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (This verse helped me alot when I moved to Dallas. It reminded me that God had this all planned out!)

And when I was little, my mom challenged us to find a life verse. She would send us to our rooms every night and tell us to look through the bible until we found one we could really apply to our lives. I chose Job 23:12: "I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread." I pray that this will be true of me every single day.

Don't you just love God's word? There are so many hidden treasures in there for us. I could go on and on about my favorite verses, but I'll end here since my kiddies are about to walk in the door!

(PS. I'm a little sad because this 30 day challenge is officially halfway over!)

Day 12

Day 12- What you believe

This is such a vague question. I'm assuming it means what you believe in? If not, oh well, that's what I'm going with.

I believe that I have a God that loves me more than I can imagine. Who loves me through my mistakes and my royal mess ups and my piles of sin. I believe that that God sent his one and only son to bleed and die for me on that cross so that one day, I can be with that God who loves me. (PS. That idea means so much more to me now that my friends are having kids. The kids aren't even mine, yet I love them so much. How do you send your only kid to die for a bunch of people who don't even care? But that is the loving God I serve.) I believe that Christ is my only way to redemption. I believe that pursuing after Him all the days of my life will be worth it. I believe that one day, I will be standing at the gates of heaven singing praises to the one that I lived my life for.

I also believe I mess up royally every day. It's a struggle to live a life that models after his. It's near impossible. But every day, I will continue trying. Because He is my Savior, my Lord, and my All.

Day 11

Day 11- Your favorite TV shows
There are really only 5 shows that I watch every single week. There is a sixth that I usually catch up with online. So I guess really, 6 TV shows in a week is a lot. Crap. I use to never watch TV, but since I started my "big girl job" I have discovered that the one hour I can sit on the couch and watch TV is what helps me keep my sanity.
On Mondays I watch Gossip Girl.Yes, I am a GG fan. And I'm also a Chuck/Blair fan. They are so evil, but so grand. They have to get back together! And I think Monday eluded to that.

On Tuesdays, I watch One Tree Hill and Glee. I have watched One Tree Hill literally since it's very first eposide. A lot of the times they have the same story line (crazy stalkers and a dad who never dies!) but I still love the show. It's not the same without Lucas and Peyton though! I also watch Glee with the girls on Tuesdays. I look forward to Glee night because it's a time to hang out with just the girls and I love the songs! What a great show. :)

On Thursdays I watch Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. I love Grey's. There was a season or two in college that I didn't watch because I had too much going on on Thursdays, but I have caught back up and I'm in full swing. I hate what they have done to Christina's character though! I am a new Private Practice fan (since last season) but I also love that show!

And when I have time, I watch The Office online. We own all teh DVDs, so a lot of times I just catch up whenever Holly buys the latest DVD! Michael Scott is the funniest person alive. (Yes, I realize he isn't a real person. And that is very, very sad.)

(Also, I can't get my computer to upload any more pictures, so I will have to do that later!!)
