Braves, Football, and State Fair

I love long weekends. Being able to sit up on a Sunday night and not worry about work is simply amazing. I am so excited about having tomorrow off. I plan on sleeping in, running errands, doing chores, and finishing lesson plans. It will be a busy day, but I'm still excited about it.

This weekend has been perfect. (Well, besides that bama loss....) Friday night we had dinner with our brother and the Dugger family. Then we had friends over to watch the Braves win, and they pulled off a win! It was great! Then Saturday the Tide decided to not play, and it resulted in an ugly loss. But in the end, it's just a game. We are still #8, so if we win out the rest of the season we could still be in the big game. Lots of things have to happen in order for that to happy, but it could. Saturday night we had friends over to watch the auburn/kentucky game and the lsu/florida. It was kind of funny, because it was the girls screaming at the (two) TVs all night and the boys were just hanging out. Isn't is suppose to be the other way around?
With Cali, my LSU gal. Her Les is so freaking lucky. Hopefully that luck will run out soon! ;-)
With Katie, my auburn gal. Her team is only winning because of Cam! I swear, last night was the Cam Newton show. But hey, they got a W, so I can't say much!
Seriously, SEC girls are a different breed. We were all so into the games! Our teams are currently sitting at #7, #8, and #9... and since none our teams have played each other yet, then we could all mess each others season up. Hopefully football won't separate our friendships in the next few weeks! haha!

Today we headed to the state fair. We had SO much fun! It was hot, but what else is new? I think it's always hot in Texas. We all bought different fried foods so we could all try them. I think in the end, we had tried fried oreos, fried snickers, fried cheesecake, fried pop tarts, margaritas, corny dogs, candy apples, and taffy. AGH! Completely unhealthy, but the state fair only comes once a year....
The girls with Big Tex. He moves! And talks! And wears real clothes! That's legit.
We look like we are celebrating st. patricks day....
Right before we got on the ferris wheel. We had a beautiful view of Dallas, but I think Holly almost had a heart attack! Needless to say, I doubt Holly will be getting on that ferris wheel again!
I wish we had gotten a picture of the entire group, but someone had to take the picture, right?
Sweaty, Gross, Full, and Tired. But we had so much fun!!

After the fair, we came home and Ryan and Travis came over to watch the braves game. We cheered and tomahawked and even sang christmas shoes, but Brooks Conrad couldn't get it together and the braves lost. Hopefully they will pull off a win tomorrow and keep this series going!

Tomorrow is a school holiday! I am so thankful for that. Especially since my weekend has been so busy that I haven't even thought about my lesson plans. I'm really excited because Tuesday is Bonnie's baby shower at Townley and then I get to spend Wednesday morning at Townley too. I think it will do me good to be back for half a day! I just can't wait. Now Sarah is here for a slumber party, so off to do girly things! :) I seriously love my life in Dallas!
